Mother’s Day Special: Lemon and lavender heart-shaped biscuitsThursday May 23rd, 2013
I often bake these lemon & lavender biscuits when I want to give something and I do not have enough time to make some macarons (my macarons recipe is here). 20 minutes, a nice packaging and you’re done! Perfect for Mothers’ Day 🙂
Preparation: 10 minutes Cooking time: 10 minutes
Ingredients for 18 biscuits
– 100g flour – 60g soft butter – 20g icig sugar – 1 teaspoon lemon essence – 1 teaspoon water – Yellow food colouring
– 100g flour – 60g soft butter – 20g icig sugar – 1 teaspoon lavender essence – 1 teaspoon water – Purple/blue food colouring
You can use different aromas/essence: strawberry, raspberry, coffee, chocolate, etc. and choose your food colouring cosequently.
For both types of biscuits, the procedure is the same. 1- Preheat the oven (180°C). Mix gently soft butter and icing sugar until soft and homogenous. 2- Mix flour with your food colouring following the packaging instructions and quantity. Add the flour to the soft butter with sugar, essence and water. Shape into a ball. 3- Roll thinly (2-3 mm). 4- Usind a heart-shaped cookie cutter, make your cookies. 5- Cook for 10-12 minutes.
